The 19/20 Fall Winter Collection examines contents, sceneries and landscapes of the “mountain film” - a cinematographic genre that spread in Europe during the 20s – with particular reference to The Holy Mountain (1926) and The White Ecstasy (1931), two movies that describe the relationship between woman and nature; a physical and mental challenge in which the strength of the mountain forges both body and character. Genevieve Xhaet brings this tension within the FW 2019/20 Collection, mixing colors and contemporary materials.
Headgears and foulards in nylon, a modern and technical fabric that makes them fresh and contemporary; sculptural turbans marked by soft and harmonious shapes in wool, cashmere and velvet; felt hats characterized by the typical alpine forms with technical ribbons matched up with wool; hats and headbands with classic and unusual shapes, like the triangular Atena hat.
Black, white, green and blue are the main colors, crossed by gold and silver glares.
This season Flapper presents hair accessories, such as head dress and rubber bands crafted from a blend of yarns in cotton and lurex. Lightness is the key word for hair bands conceived with feathers and wools.
The Tailored project, the custom-made of Flapper, accompanies the collection and allows to combine selected models with Loro Piana wool, cashmere and silk fabrics.
All the accessories are hand made in Italy using artisan techniques and the exquisite fabrics of the valleys around Biella.
